Direct measurements of and violation

These measurements are possible by using semileptonic decays of neutral kaons and assuming the validity of the rule. Due to a possible new interaction violating the rule the above formula have to be modified according to Appendix A. If the strangeness of the neutral kaon can be tagged at the time of its production and at its decay we can measure the rate of a oscillating in a and its -conjugated process, oscillating in a as well as the rate that a decayed as a compared to its conjugated process. The decay rate asymmetries constructed with these four rates are a direct measurement of the and violation in the mass and decay matrix:

In addition by measuring the time dependent rate difference of and transitions, we obtain a measurement of the oscillation frequency free of any assumptions of symmetry violation in the mass and decay matrix in first order:
