Minutes of the NFS-meeting held on 8/3/94: =========================================== In this meeting we had no reports about finalized activities, but a discussion around the table, about what the different activities are at the moment. Bernd Pagels: ------------- * Optimization of Q-prime cut to further reduce 3Pi0 background. * Looking at possibility of 'repairing' wrong gamma-gamma pairs. * Study of tails in lifetime resolution. Olaf Behnke: ------------ * Fine tuning of calibration of shower angle reconstruction. * Working towards a final version of the calibration and the vertex reconstruction to be implemented in the official software (error calculation in ANAPB, vertex reconstruction in VXNFIT). Guido Polivka: -------------- * Energy calculation (including error on E) is implemented in ANAPB. * The full Energy calibration (including,W0,sigma(W0),Omega...) has still to be made available for everybody ! We decided NOT to add this software to VXNFIT, but to create a NEW LIBRARY for such tools, that are not constraint fits. Marcin Wolter: -------------- * Provides a routine for redefining a neutral shower around a kaon to be put into ANAPB. * Study of possible background in data with 1 converted photon, using MC. * Production of Ks-->Pi0Pi0 MC well on the way (statistics available at Collaboration meeting more than doubled !). Thomas Ruf: ----------- * Analysis of possible K0-->gamma gamma signal in data with 1 converted photon, shows no signal for such K0 decays. * All data with 1 converted photon up to P24 should be reprocessed (using new knowledge about possible background) which corresponds to a CPU need of approximately 2 days on 2 alphas. Andreas Schopper: ----------------- * Last missing NFS456 filter data of P24 arrived this morning. The P24 NFSPROD production is therefore expected to finish this week ! * Starting to look at influence of possible future trigger decisions to enhance K0-->Pi0Pi0 statistics at data taking level per real time. (Any person interested, specially in NN's used in trigger, is welcome) Request from Pi+Pi- analysis group to run MC on 'ETH-cluster': -------------------------------------------------------------- * Everybody agreed, that approx. 7 days of our alpha CPU time can be used for Pi+Pi- MC production, as long as this production runs parasitically to all other (production and analysis) activities (as always done for any MC production on this cluster !). A.O.B. ------ * We should foresee to have 'final plots' for all results from NFS-analysis by beginning of May latest. These plots should contain the full statistics up to P24 ! They will be used for the 'summer conferences' and for a coming status report. Next meeting: ============= *********************************************************************** * We agreed to have the next NFS-meeting on Wednesday 6/4/94 at 10.30 h * * in the CPLEAR meeting room. * *********************************************************************** (I will be away from CERN from 21/3/94 until 1/4/94 incl.)
