pi+pi- final state

Minutes of the weekly pi+pi- meeting held on 12/10/1994
Present:
C.Touramanis, T.Ruf, M.Fidecaro, A.Schopper, P.Pavlopoulos

Christos presented is latest results about his analysis.
The two different sets M1M2 and M2M1 are in good agreement, same
normalisation, same phi+-. Effect of LUTs is about 0.9^o.
Christos will try to get a serious error estimation for using the
LUTs until next meeting. By using the new MC, he finds a very good KS lifetime.
The value of phi+- is very stable by changing the fit region
(>2taus, >3taus...). The normalisation region is kept fix (1-2 taus).
Dividing the data into two regions (Pt K0 > 500MeV and Pt K0 < 500MeV)
give same phi+-.

Thomas presented a different idea to achieve a flat normalisation
as function of lifetime.
Instead of correcting the primary quantities with LUT, another
possibility would be to correct for the efficiency of finding the
secondary decay as function of decay radius.
In general: if all possible decay radii would be detected in our detector
with equal probability then any normalisation asymmetry in primary
kin. parameters would not give a normalisation dependence as function
of the lifetime. It will be tested using MiniMC.

Next regular pi+pi- meeting will be on tuesday 18th october, 9am.
